Heavyweight Duck Canvas

Duck canvas is a plain-weave fabric in which two threads are woven together in both the warp and weft, creating a dense, square construction. At heavyweight grade (12–14 oz per square yard), the fabric is stiff enough to hold structural shapes — tool pockets, gussets, bellows pockets — without requiring a lining or interfacing. The tight weave resists abrasion and puncture, making heavyweight duck the default fabric for work jackets, carpenter pants, bags, and upholstery applications that see heavy use. The fabric softens and becomes more pliable after repeated washing and wear, a valued characteristic in workwear that improves fit over time. 100% cotton construction means it accepts dye well and breathes adequately in temperate working conditions.
